Grateful for a new week...

It's  been over a week since I have updated and what a week its been.
Last Saturday May 12th, we found out that Jason's grandma was in a comatose state. We visited her a couple of times on Saturday and Sunday. Jason didn't want to remember her in that state so we focused a lot on our last dinner with her the Tuesday before.
His grandma passed away on Monday morning. She was an incredible woman and will be greatly missed. I didn't get to know her until Jason got home from his mission and it definitely wasn't long enough. She would always ask when we were going to try for a girl. She said we mastered the boy with 2 adorable ones and now we needed to work on our girl making skills. As many of you know this is a touchy subject for me but I never minded when she asked. I could tell that she loved my boys for who they were. We loved to go visit her and even Kyler started to warm up to her. She was so caring and was always trying to do things for us. She will definitely be missed but we know she is in a better place. I am so happy that she gets to be with her husband again. I am also incredibly grateful for my knowledge of the Gospel because I know we will get to see her again.
Needless to say Monday was a hard day so I was very grateful for my little sister taking me and the boys to the park. It was a good distraction.  We ended up with all of my boys cousins except Lydia.  It was kind of crazy for us 3 adults with so many kids.  The kids weren't too interested in feeding the ducks but they loved playing in the water.  We had a picnic and just enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Elsa and Paul....Later that day, Paul proposed and she said yes!!  We are so happy for them!  Paul is a great guy and treats her right.  Most importantly, he makes her happy! I am so excited for them to experience this next adventure in their lives!  They are such a great couple! :)

Duncan loved his ring pop!

The geese scared Kyler a bit too!
Grandma had asked Jason to officiate at her funeral and do the eulogy. So Jason spent the next couple days preparing it. Thankfully he was given 3 days of bereavement. The funeral was in Elko, NV. Jason's mom is from there and this was my first time going there. We left Thursday early afternoon. We carpooled with Chris Ray and Duncan. The boys got frustrated at the end of the drive but pretty much kept each other entertained.
Thursday night we had a BBQ with Jason's uncle aunt and cousins. It was nice to talk with everyone and get to know them. After we went to the hotel for the night.
The funeral was Friday morning. Kyler was pretty hyper but it helped me to keep him entertained. Thankfully my wonderful mother in law kept Korbin. The service was beautiful. I think it did well at truly being a celebration of her life here on earth. I may be biased but I think Jason did an amazing job. :) I wish we had gotten a picture but we were all wearing green, grandma's favorite color.
After the service we had a luncheon. It was nice to meet so much family. We let the kids run around and get their energy out before we got back in the car.  We had a pretty easy ride home and then we spent the rest of the night relaxing.
Chris and Ray moved on Saturday. Jason went to help and I tagged a long to watch Duncan. Kyler and Duncan love to play together. We played with bubbles, balls, and even checked out black and white days. It was fun.
That night was the adult session of stake conference. I had never been before so I made sure we went this time and I am so glad we did. Much thanks to Chris, Ray and Jason's parents for watching the boys for us.
I was hit most on the subject of family and the importance of teaching the Gospel in our home. It really hit me how the Lord has entrusted Jason and I with these two amazing little spirits and how it is up to us to teach them about Him. I want our home to truly be home of the Gospel.
Right before the closing song my dad called/texted us to let us know my grandpa (papa) had passed away. He had been battling cancer for the past 3 years and last month we were told there was nothing else the drs could do. We had a trip planned to go see him in June. I am so grateful that he is not suffereing anymore but I hate that I was not able to say goodbye.  He was a great grandpa and one that could always get me to smile.  The memory that sticks in my mind was when we told him that we were pregnant with Kyler, he tried to convince us to name him Jasper Barthelemow.  He was such a funny man and a hero of mine.  I was not able to see him much living so far away but I miss him a lot.
His funeral is next Saturday the 2nd so the boys and I will be going up their with my family.  I'm worried about taking the trip without Jason but I think it will be okay but boy will I miss him.  We've never spent an entire day apart since we've been married so this is a big deal for me.  Good thing I'll have 2 adorable boys to keep me distracted, plus I get to see lots of family up there which I'm excited about.  Too bad it isnt for a happier thing.
The rest of the week I have just been trying to keep myself busy and distracted.  I definitely have broken down a few times with the stress of everything but I am definitely so grateful for the Lord, He has always been there for me. I know that I did not say good bye to these two amazing people forever but just for a short time.  I will see them again.
Now for some more pictures!

Oh boy oh boy oh boy!

Weekend joy!

We had a very busy weekend! Thankfully the weather was gorgeous so we spent a lot of time outside. Since I have a lot to share I'm planning to write more posts so enjoy :)
Saturday was my dad's birthday, he is getting old :O. He is such an amazing dad and has taught me so much! He is always there for me (well for all of us kids). He is such a hard worker but also loves to play. One of the best things was how he treats my mom (and other women). I had a great example on what kind of man I should have for a husband. Jason has those qualities :) Anyway happy birthday to the best dad a girl could ask for!
My dad planned out his birthday. He wanted to go golfing, then horse riding, then to dinner and a movie. Our family was supposed to join for dinner and a movie since Jason had to work that day.
Jason was working with his brother so I was watching our nephew Duncan. Kyler and Duncan love each other. We played inside for a little awhile. They would work together to gang up on our big stuffed frog. Kyler was taking down the head while Duncan got the body. It was pretty funny. Since it was gorgeous outside, we didn't last long inside. I was worried about taking the boys to the field by our house alone but they listened so well when I said to stay on the grass. They loved the sand and playing catch. Korbin slept in the shade most of the time we were there. He is one solid sleeper.
Jason got off 3 hours later than planned and we wanted to go see his grandma so we missed dinner with my dad but we went and saw the Avengers with him. Our family took up almost a whole row. I told Ben that probably by time he got married we'd have to go to 2 rows. Love my family :)
Sunday was mother's day! I could not ask for a better calling than to be a mom to my boys! I have been blessed with such wonderful examples on how to be a good mom and I honestly hope they felt honor on this day. (Mini vent, holidays are not forced appreciation days but a special day to honor those the day is for. I love my family and friends everyday but love having extra days to honor them. I hate how people claim holidays are forced appreciation days but everyone is allowed their own opinion so here's mine, end vent.)
Jason made sure I felt extra loved. He made breakfast. I love when he cooks, it's always so yummy. He got me a foundations necklace (I'll post a picture, he gave this to me a few weeks early and I still can't get over how much I love it.) He also got me some flowers. Kyler got me a gnome which is absolutely adorable! I love my boys.
Church was lovely like always. I had Korbin for nursery since we're working on Kyler staying through his nursery so Jason went with him. The kids loved Korbin and I had a hard time getting their attention for the lesson. They all just wanted to play with the baby.
After church we went to my family's.
We enjoyed playing outside and eating great food! Korbin was wearing one of Kyler's old outfits so we did comparison photos. We had to take lots of pictures of Korbin because he was focused on his Auntie Ella and wouldn't look at me, silly boy.
Once we left there we went and had a picnic with Jason's family.  We spent a lot of time with his mom and grandma.
It was a good weekend which we needed to get us thru the week.

Duncan loved the sand.

The gorgeous necklace and earrings Jason got me.

We love walks!

Jason and I won gift cards to the mall so I walked there today with the boys to window shop. We had a blast. The boys love walks and will look everywhere. We played in the play area. Kyler us such a ladies man, there was this little girl who followed him around for 10 minutes. We definitely enjoyed ourselves! My little brother made the family a gourmet dinner tonight and it was delicious! And the cake was to die for, incredibly scrumptious! It was fun to get together with the family and eat good food. My adorable little sister was up with her boyfriend so things were entertaining. Her and Ben can make any activity entertaining :) All in all today was great! I love my family, can't say it enough! I was blessed with the best parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, in-laws, sons and husband! I'm one spoiled person!

Brotherly love!

Today I was talking with Korbin on the couch when Kyler ran over to the couch and climbed up. I thought he was just wanting attention when he started to hug his brother. He tried picking him up so I put Korbin in his lap. They spent the next 10 minutes talking to each other, it was absolutely adorable. I love how they love each other. It makes every sleepless night worth it.

Our day!

Today wasn't a monumental but I'm staying on track recording the little moments.
As I was cleaning out our closet today, Kyler saw his old jumper and asked to get in. He played in there for 10 minutes. I tried pulling him out a few times but he was having a blast. I wonder what he is going to do when Korbin starts using it in a couple weeks.
Korbin has started to enjoy his play mat and loves to kick at the ball. You can see in the picture that he was not holding his leg still. I love seeing him grow and watching as he learns things. Even though he is growing too fast!
I love that we have a big field by are place. We go out almost every day, weather permitting. The boys never get bored and its usually a battle to get Kyler back in. Luckily Korbin can't put up too much of a fight yet.
Tonight Jason's grandma asked us to take her to dinner. We had a blast. She is such a sweet lady, we love visiting with her.  When we brought her back, Jason put her purse on Kyler's shoulders and he carried it all the way to her room. It was adorable and we got lots of comments. My little man is such a gentleman.
Tonight I was feeding Korbin and Jason was supposed to be getting Kyler to bed but they were wrestling.  Kyler would bounce on Jason and then give him lots of hugs. It was making me laugh. He is such a goofball but of so sweet.
Korbin is still waking up a couple of times a night. Thankfully I have a cute face to wake up too.
Now pictures (sorry I have no idea how to get them in order).
Have a great day!

Kyler loves daddy!

Fun stories for memories sake!

As any mom does, I sing to my boys when I am rocking them.  Yesterday I was rocking Korbin trying to get him to take a nap and I was singing children's hymns.  Kyler was playing with his cars when I noticed that he was making some noise.  Everytime I stopped he stopped too but when I started to sing again, he started too.  Kyler loves children's hymns and it looks like he is going to love to sing them too!

Yesterday I went upstairs to do some budgeting on the computer.  Kyler went up with me and Korbin stayed down with Jason.  Kyler usually comes upstairs with me and plays in his room.  We have a gate at the top of the stairs so it works great.  After being up gor a few minutes I heard him start to fuss, when I went to look for him I found him downstairs.  He somehow got past the gate and walked down the stairs all by himself.  He has never tried to walk down the stairs by himself.  yet again he amazes me!

The other day Korbin was in his swing napping. He woke up and started cooing.  I looked over because he only coos if he sees someone and is trying to talk to them.  He was looking in the mirror cooing,  he found "another baby" to talk with.  He loved it and sat there cooing happily for awhile!
